Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon: Gemstone: Pluto's Revelations. Past, Present, Future. Time is Unwritten!
"No! The attack upon Crystal Tokyo went perfectly-"
Ada stared at her reflection in the rather ugly and broken down vanity mirror. As always, the childlike face looked back at her with a dull, unresolved expression.
"Yet, if you didn't fail, then where are the senshi's corpses? I do not see them at my feet..." Ada said, raising her eyebrows. She glanced to the ground, as if pointing out something simple to a two year old.
The blue haired girl bowed her head. "I apologize. We gave it-"
"Nonsense. You did nothing DEAR sister!"
Fuyu looked to her sister, Kyuuka in anger. It would figure that Kyuuka never passed up an opportunity to make Fuyu feel worthless or naive.
"This only leaves us room for improvement mother. Besides, what would be the fun in killing them right away?" Kyuuka asked with a rather innocent looking smile. Fuyu shot her a look. Fuyu, herself, didn't like doing dirty work for their mother, Queen Ada. However, her opinion was important and it was so much harder for her to win grace with her mother than it was for Kyuuka. Being fiery and sneaky came naturally to her.
Ada looked into her daughter's eyes, only in the mirror. A smile crossed her face. Fuyu kept a straight and earnest face, but in all truth, her mother scared her when she smiled. Her mother was known for being pleased one minute, then throwing objects (and occasionally people) across the room the next. A smile from her could mean a psychotic outburst or genuine appeasement. One would never be able to tell.
"You always please me Kyuuka," was all Ada muttered.
Kyuuka shot Fuyu a snide smirk, then held her chin up proudly.
"What are your plans?"
Kyuuka suddenly looked taken back. Fuyu had to take her turn to smirk. "Plans?"
Ada kept the smile calmly plastered to her face. "Yes, plans. You surely must have some idea of how to ensnare them and 'toy' with them, as you put it."
Kyuuka shot Fuyu a look that could've melted ice, then turned calmly to her mother. A moment of silence passed before a cruel smile spread across Kyuuka's face.
Fuyu's own smirk faded. She knew the smile that Kyuuka wore all too well. It was a smile reserved only for when she got her most cruel and most brilliant ideas.
"Now that you mention it mother, yes. I have a perfect plan..." Kyuuka hissed, allowing the sickenly cruel grin to spread further.
Fuyu frowned. She was beginning to think that her own sister, truly had no heart.
"Setsuna-san..." Usagi cried. It hadn't taken long for Usagi to remember the last fallen soldier. Usagi held Sailorpluto in her arms. Sailorpluto had been beaten badly. Her fuku was torn and her arms were cut and had bruises the size of small stones. Her skin was blistered and burnt similarly to the way that Sailoruranus' had been.
Pluto moaned weakly, her garnet eyes clenched shut tightly. Usagi held her hand tightly, as the group of her friends and new senshi looked on.
"This, wasn't forseen..." Pluto gasped. Usagi's eyes welled with tears for the umpteenth time that night. It had been such a wonderful day and now...
The thought trailed off, as Pluto struggled to continue. "Never...once has this happened...It was so sudden..."
"Ansei, Setsuna-san..." Usagi whispered. Pluto weakly opened her eyes. Her eyes met Usagi's and in a moment, Pluto's hand gripped Usagi's. "Usagi-sama, your highness..." Pluto whispered, fondly. Usagi felt the hot tears stream down her face. "You must know...that...the future...is unwritten..."
Usagi's eyes widened. Similar reactions were given from Rei, Minako and Makoto. Luna and Artemis listened with total attention.
"Everything that was, has been undone..."
"Iie! Fukanou Puu!" Chibiusa cried, falling to her knees beside Pluto. Saturn looked over, not far away. Her violet eyes sparkled with a few tears, yet at the same time, she wore a grave expression.
"It's not..."
"If my parents..." Chibiusa trailed off for a moment, as if not daring to speak the truth. "I would be gone by now!"
Pluto gave a sad smile, before wincing once more. "Unfortunately, you were born to your mother and father in your era. If they were to die, it's not practical that you would simply fade away. The only possible way that would happen...would be...the death of the present Usagi-sama..."
Chibiusa listened as if in shock. "NO!! I WON'T BELIEVE IT!" she screamed, throwing her arms around the woman and sobbing on her chest. Usagi put her other hand on the girl's head, soothingly. "Chibiusa-chan..."
"Makenai...Usagi-sama. You must ...shape your own future..."
"But how? I-I can't. I don't know what to do Pluto-sama! How things are supposed to go?! If nothing's set, I could-"
"Wait!"
Usagi, and even Chibiusa, looked over to the direction of the voice, tears still flowing down their cheeks. A small girl from the group ran over. She was a bit younger than Chibiusa and had short cropped, light brown hair. Her eyes were a pale blue. She knelt beside Chibiusa and looked directly into Pluto's eyes.
"Tsurara!" Pearl called out. The girl, known as Tsurara, paid no attention. "Sailorpluto, what is to become of us? We don't know what we're doing here. You said we have a mission and that it would become clear once we were here, and yet it has only become more clouded."
Pluto looked gravely into Tsurara's eyes, crying out once more.
"Puu!" Chibiusa cried in horror.
"Pluto!" the others yelled, for fear of the worst.
"I ...have l-little time left. Ironic...for the senshi of time..." she whispered with a faint smile. Tsurara's eyes pleaded with Pluto's. "I should hope...that your task has become more...c-clear now tha-AHH!"
"Pluto hang on!" Usagi pleaded, gripping her hand until her knuckles went white.
Tsurara looked back to the group. "Chiyuno! Doujino! Can't you help?"
Chiyuno eyed her emotionlessly. "There's nothing that can be done. She's suffered too much, and I'm afraid that extracting the dark grip on her soul may very well kill her anyway," he responded calmly.
Tsurara looked back at the woman, helplessly. "I'm sorry..."
Pluto smiled weakly. "No, no need. Please...guard Chibiusa and Usagi-sama. Their existence is more important than ever..."
Tsurara nodded and glanced to the pink haired girl beside her, who never once took her eyes off of Pluto.
Pluto's body convulsed as another wrack of pain stabbed her. "No..." Usagi moaned, clenching her eyes shut. She held Pluto's soft, gloved hand to her face. Pluto closed her eyes. It was too hard for her to keep them open any longer.
"Take care Usagi-sama. I always believed in you. I still believe you can...r-restore...the...future..." Pluto whispered. For a moment, Pluto simply smiled at Usagi. It took Usagi a minute to realize Pluto's eyes had shut and she was no longer breathing. The gentle rise and fall of her chest had ceased. Usagi closed her eyes. She felt her breath come into her own lungs slowly. In, then out. Slowly.
Usagi kept her eyes clenched and began sobbing against Pluto's hand.
Chibiusa sobbed along side Usagi. Usagi became silent for a moment before she let out a heart wrenching, scream, which echoed into the cold night.

Author's Note: Okay you're probably pissed right now that I just killed Pluto off. However I have a few good reasons.
1. Pluto has upheld her duty as Guardian of Time since that of Queen Selenity (That is hinted at in the Manga when you see Selenity telling Pluto of the taboos in her flashbacks) to the time of Neo Queen's Serenity's rule. I believed that actually killing Pluto off would be a sort of peace for her character. Sort of a long deserved rest.
2. Pluto controlled the gates of time and in essence could see the future. Killing that part off (Pluto herself) signals total chaos. That's what I need to represent right now is that the whole storyline of Sailormoon has lead up to Usagi's ascension as Neo Queen Serenity. Now that time has been altered and essentially "erased", nothing is written and total chaos is now evident. Thus we have the conflict in Gemstone.
3. Death will be a common thing in this story. I do not believe that everything ALWAYS turns out peaches and cream. When people die they DO NOT COME BACK (Hint hint: End of Stars season and the Beryl battle). That may be Naoko's world, but it is not mine. Which is why I don't own Sailormoon and why this is just a story. If you have a problem with death and such then I suggest you not read on any further.
I hope that clears up why I killed off such a wonderful character. I love Pluto and in fact she is my second favorite senshi, but all in all, for my story this was necassary. Then again that's all this is, is a story.
Now about the terms in this story.
1. Ansei ~ Means: Rest or Quiet
2. Fukanou ~ Means: Impossible
3. Makenai ~ Means: Never give up or to continue
4. Sayonara ~ Means: Farewell or Goodbye
5. Iie ~ Means: No!
